Back to sea

At last, I'm ready for sea again. The past two weeks have been busy with boat repairs (thanks, Mike at Rockpool, for fitting it into a very busy schedule), kit replacement (thanks to various retailers for discounts), and dealing with the police. It seems that some of the old kit might eventually find its way home, but time and tide...

The forecast is perfect for the next few days, so let's make the best of it.

  1. Congratulations on getting back on the water. Here's wishing you fair winds and tides along the Kent coast.
Did you know? According to Wkipedia, the coast at Reculver is eroding at a rate of approximately 1 to 2 metres a year. When the Romans built their fort there the sea was 2 kilometres away. Does that mean that if you'd waited another week you'd have had less far to paddle?
Beware the Barnes Wallis bombs, the crying babies and the twin sisters.
    Felicitations etc
